Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were alerted by an anonymous tip that a burglary was taking place at Papa Zouk Bar and Restaurant on Hilda Davis Drive.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23.
The officers promptly responded to the call and upon arrival, they observed that the lock on the entrance door had been tampered with, confirming the occurrence of a break-in.
A group of officers secured the perimeter of the building while others entered to conduct a search. During the search, they discovered a 59-year-old man from Powells hiding in the restroom.
The individual was swiftly apprehended by the officers and placed under arrest.
Upon further inspection of the premises, it was revealed that the burglar alarm system had been intentionally damaged.
Investigations into both incidents are currently in progress.
