Only one person continues to be Covid-positive, the government has said.
Two consecutive negative tests of a patient are to be achieved before a person can be declared free of the virus.
Information Minister Melford Nicholas says the information received by the health minister is that the patient is not showing a deteriorating health condition.
He said the first test on the woman after she returned to good health returned negative “but the follow on test that was required to make (her) COVID-free came back as positive.”
The minister said it is likely that there was either a false positive or false negative and that to satisfy the requirements of the Pan American Health Organisation there will be a follow on test.
He said another test will be sent off today and if it returns negative the country is likely to be decalred “covid-free”.
There have been 25 covid-19 cases in Antigua & Barbuda and three deaths.
