A very larger percentage of female officers within the Royal Police Force of Antigua turned out on Saturday to participate in the 2023 Women’s Police Retreat held at the campus of the American University of Antigua-AUA.

The one-day retreat is celebrated under the theme “Empowering Women in Law Enforcement.”

The event got on the way around 9 am with a short devotion and prayers by Rev. Denise Smith Lewis of the Moravian Church. That was followed by welcoming remarks from Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Albert MP Wade Sr.

Commissioner of Police, Atlee Rodney also brought brief remarks, while the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Legal Affairs, Public Safety and Labour Mrs Stacey Grigg-Paige offered the feature address and declared the session open.

Several female presenters will be presenting on a number of topics aimed towards empowering female officers in a male-dominated organization.
The event will conclude around 2pm today.
