During test flights of a recently acquired aircraft, the airline discovered the issue and promptly took action by purchasing new parts.

According to the Antigua and Barbuda’s Information Minister, Melford Nicholas, the replacement process began yesterday, and the airline expects to receive the remaining parts “in another couple of days they will receive the other.”

Nicholas clarified that the gear replacement was part of routine maintenance, explaining that, “as per the airline’s maintenance protocol, which requires certain parts to be changed after a specified number of flying hours or a certain period.”

With the new parts acquired, he says the regional carrier is still “on schedule to commence commercial operations in fairly short order.”

However, before it can resume flights, the airline must pass inspection by the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority to obtain its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC).

LIAT 2020 is the successor to LIAT 1974 and is a joint venture between regional governments and Nigerian airline Air Peace, which holds a 70 percent stake in the new airline.

  1. Remember that number people, “70%”.

That’s an astronomical number, especially given the fact that it will take a long time to even see any profits from this airline.

Bwoi a tell you, I would do anything to see the write up on this contract, because that’s a huge lopsided number.
I would love to hear from the lawyers who draft/negotiated this type of contract to the detriment of our people.

When will the giving away of our value is going to stop under this dunce economical administration?

    • What write up? Chet Greene went to Nairobi to sign the deal. The owner of AIR PEACE is a lawyer. Chet and Gaston gets what they want in the deal.
AIR PEACE is primarily a front

This is not about duncesness; it’s classic creative enrichment on the part of Gaston and Chet.

Any dunce-ness are the tax payers who will foot the bill and are not enraged.
This ripp-off is Plain and simple and they are about to get away with it for people are not asking questions and forcing Gaston and Chet to come clean.

    • Where have you been?
      Regional Governments are out.

AIR PEACE is holding the 45% that would have gone to Regional Government. That’s why it being said AIR PEACE owns 70%
Stay for a while before you finish pass through and help the people who claim they are smart, figure out who owns the hidden 45%

  2. That’s their trade mark ,a problem 🙄 liat let me and my partner down tomany times and when you need them the most their staff are RUDE.

  3. Nice to see new shiny parts are being bough with the money that should be the ex-workers severance.. mind it don’t drop off in flight when your karma bite y’all in the ass…
