Chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP), E.P. Chet Greene, has credited the party and the Antigua Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU) for shaping the nation’s development.
Speaking at Labour Day celebrations, the Foreign Affairs Minister said past and present efforts by both organisations have been central to national progress.
“We built this city. Take away the contributions of our union and party—what’s left?” Greene asked. “No other organisation can match our impact on infrastructure and people.”
He cited the revival of regional airline LIAT and the establishment of the UWI Five Islands Campus as key achievements. Greene also promised continued work on resolving water shortages and improving roads, reaffirming the government’s commitment to national advancement.

Build or break? LOL
The same way they saying the build is the same way they bring us down. All browne and his crew is doing is burying the people of Antigua..
That’s a bold claim. Plenty of people from all walks of life helped build this city.
Wasn’t the city already standing before ABLP took over?
Next headline: “Opposition says Labour Party built nothing.”
Can we also talk about what they’ve failed to fix while they were building?
Rubbish…… No party should claim sole ownership of a city’s progress—it belongs to all of us.
So then who’s responsible for all the potholes?
Funny how every party claims all the credit once elections roll around.
Sounds like campaign season is heating up early.
