The Ministry of Labour is deeply concerned about the recent accidents that have been occurring at work places around Antigua and Barbuda.

The Ministry of Labour will be redoubling its efforts to ensure that Employers and Employees alike take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of the Health, Safety and Welfare of all persons within the workplace.

To this end, the Labour Inspectorate within the Ministry of Labour will be conducting visits to workplaces to ensure that safety precautions and measures are adopted and implemented to ensure the safety of all.

It has been proven and established that once Health, Safety and Welfare measures are practiced consistently in the workplace and among the workforce, unfortunate accidents in workplaces will either be avoided or greatly diminished.

  1. Safety inspection should be carried out every day!! Sue dem. Hope the injured gentleman pulls through. Negligence and unsafe working conditions. Smh. Is Antigua a real place?

  2. After several accidents they are concerned.
When injured employees start suing the employers then maybe some real safety measures will be put in place.

Healing energies to the injured workers!
