Expressing his excitement for the future, Richard S. Lewis MP stated, “I look forward to working with all of you, and I pledge my support to your community development aims and objectives. Your work is extremely important.”

Lewis emphasized the critical role of sports development in providing benefits and opportunities, especially for youth. “Given the current state of affairs with crime, at-risk youth need this positive outlet more than ever,” he added.

Acknowledging the significance of the society’s stewardship, Lewis highlighted the importance of ensuring that sporting and entertainment activities at King George are conducted at a high standard.

He also noted the upcoming conversion of the Knuckle Block facility, stating, “There is much work still to be done to move community sports forward. This now includes, after many delays, the conversion of the Knuckle Block facility to serve its originally intended purpose – the upliftment and enrichment of our community, with sports as a key focus.”

Lewis expressed confidence in the new executive board, saying, “I have every confidence that you will, in cooperation with dedicated members of our community, successfully realize your many plans to enhance the physical facilities at King George and empower sports to be an even greater force for good.”

The King George V Restoration Society looks forward to a productive term under the leadership of its new executive board, working towards the enrichment of our community through sports and community development initiatives.

Now what exactly is the mandate of the Restoration Society and how would it not overlap the role of the constituency representative?
