Prime Minister Browne announces appointment of Kanneh-Mason family as Cultural Ambassadors.

Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne on Saturday evening at the Playing to Inspire 5 concert featuring Kanneh-Mason musical family and saxophonist Jess Gillam announced the appointment of the Kanneh-Masons as Cultural Ambassadors for Antigua and Barbuda.

Speaking at a sold out concert at the St. John’s House of Restoration church, Prime Minister Browne said that the Kanneh-Mason family is a model family in the field of music and commended them for their contributions to the development of the musical talents of young Antiguans and Barbudans.

The country’s leader also announced government’s increase to $75, 000 of an annual subvention to the Antigua and Barbuda Youth Symphony Orchestra.

He also pledged to contribute to the construction of a home for the Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Prime Minister Browne said that the performance of the Orchestra and Choir has improved tremendously and he was truly inspired.

  1. What a show that was. And of course, our Prime Minister did the most appropriate thing that anyone should and could have done. Making the entire family a Cultural Ambassador, after having given them the last time all a Diplomatic Antiguan Passport. And special thanks to the Hadeed Family for giving the ABYSO a plot of land for the building of their own Studio in which they will have their own home. A family that is giving back a lot to this country which they have made their home.
