17

A 48-year-old Villa man, Kanassa Robinson, has been remanded to prison after allegedly attempting to kill a pastor during a robbery at a church on Sunday, November 24.

Robinson is facing charges of attempted murder, burglary, robbery, and sacrilege after he allegedly broke into St. John’s Pentecostal Church House of Restoration on Lauchland Benjamin Drive.

Reports say Robinson tried to shoot Pastor Dr. Stephen Andrews three times, but his weapon malfunctioned as the pastor intervened. Despite the failed attempts to shoot, Robinson managed to steal a vehicle worth $10,000.

He was arrested and charged after an investigation by local authorities. Robinson is currently in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.

  1. Free this man in jesus name. If the pastor is truly a pastor he would have forgiven this man. Many are truly called but few are chosen. This man should not be in prison if we are truly dealing with a man of God.

    • @Just Saying…. Who says the Pastor has not forgiven him? He can be forgiven but still has the face the consequences of his actions. Forgiveness does NOT mean there is to be no punishment. With your kind of thinking, no wonder the criminals are becoming so emboldened as to enter the sacred places in our society to commit their lawless acts.

He should be jailed for a long time to send a message that this kind of depravity will not be tolerated.

  2. But for a man so young, how he face hard so?

@just saying: your idea of pastor dropping charges is to become a law breaker himself to pervert the natural course of justice in motion, it was the same thing when the PM said the gangs can dispose of the guns themselves and also at his home break in, he prevented public details of what’s at his home that could be damaging by dropping the charges.

  3. Every man is entitled to his own perspective and perception. Stop judging a man’s opinion. it’s only a comment from his perspective and understanding.

Is it a $10,000 or $100,000 vehicle. Is this his only vehicle. How rich is this pastor? Was he just standing there to be shot or was he hiding somewhere else? The video didn’t say much. Why is he using the video for Jesus props in church when there is so much back story the public will never know. Was it an old malfunctioning gun from the onset?
I’m happy no one was hurt but too many angles here we won’t ever know. Maybe it was Jesus maybe not but where was Jesus when these two young female teens was attacked before killed? No videos, right? No miracles, right? Only pastors and Apostles can encounter miraculous events and stories for church and the glory of God.
    Just my perspective.

  4. @Just Saying. Where is the scripture to support your point of view? God forgives people and frees them from eternal damnation if they are repentant but still allows them to face the consequences of their actions here on earth e.g. God forgave King David, but he was still punished by having his family fall apart in dramatic ways. The Bible says forgive as an individual, it does not say that the laws of the land should not be followed. It is not up to the pastor to “drop charges” in a criminal matter such as this. The safety of the citizens from violent unrepentant criminals is also important so justice must still be done. Jesus prayed to God to forgive the people who were crucifying him, he never said society should not hold them accountable. “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and unto God the things that are God”. The man has not repented of his crime and possible planned future crimes against the peace of the entire society so he must still face the usual social penalties. If he is repentant then society (not the pastor) might reduce his sentence. However, the best way to prove that he is repentant is actually to accept his fate humbly knowing that it is what he deserves. When he does that with a good attitude we can see that he is truly changed and then mercy can be administered in the form of a reduced sentence. Remember, Jesus said if someone asks for forgiveness 70 times 7 times forgive them. Did this man ask for forgiveness even once?

  5. @Just Saying – Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

  6. His words when he hang on the cross facing death was “forgive them for they know not what they have done”.

I am surprised that many who claim to be God fearing are digressing from the scripture.

Pastor should have this man freed. God sends different trial situation to see if we are indeed his followers. This in my opinion is very likely one.

  7. @confused you sound confused indeed.
What does the value of the car has to do with anything? What does how rich the pastor has to do with this incident? What does an old malfunctioning gun has to do with this? Did you ever had a gun pointed in your direction? Have you ever faced such an event? Old or new no one wants to have a gun pointed at them. Fake or real you don’t ever want to face it.
Jesus is ever present when you surrender your life to him! People wants God’s protection but don’t want to live for him. It’s sad what happened to the two young ladies and more.

In 911 Christians died. But their eternal home is different from the unbelievers.

Read PSALM 1. The ungodly shall perish.

Psa 1:5 KJV Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

    Just my saying

  8. In my view, the pastor can forgive the thief in his heart,as an act of obedience to God and a reflection of Christ-like love. This doesn’t mean excusing or forgetting the thief’s actions but choosing not to harbor resentment or seek personal vengeance.
Forgiveness does not eliminate the need for justice. The thief attempted a serious crime and put lives in danger.Romans 13:1-5 reminds us that governments and authorities are established by God to maintain order and punish wrongdoing.
The thief should face legal consequences for his actions. This serves as a deterrent for others and provides an opportunity for the thief to reflect, repent and change his ways.
Forgiveness and justice can coexist. The pastor can forgive the thief while allowing the legal system to take its course. This approach ensures that mercy is extended without compromising the safety and integrity of the community.
The pastor could also advocate for restorative justice measures, such as counseling or spiritual guidance for thief, which align with Christian principles of redemption. Again it’s my view.

  9. Countless hard core True belivers have died innocently. 2 year old children raped by grown people of God than are true Christians. But reality is the so called Bible your quoting fully endorsed genocide, slavery and also took away free will from Pharoah when he hardened his heart. Where is Jesus for innocent people who believe in him but are still brutally mistreated.
These men/ women of God use the Bible to enrich themselves fully. CHRISTIANS need to read and understand the Bible fully. Research sources apart from it. Stop being foold by these pastors. Can you factually explain the gun issue. How profitable was that collection plate after that video showing service. How many families in need have been shown publicly receiving help from him.
Fact and truth is religion is poisonous. Do your research apart from your circle.

  10. Thank you, God, for saving Apostle Stephen Andrews’s life. The Enemy could NOT take him out before his time, because purpose is not fulfilled yet

Continue to keep him safe God.

    Amen!

  11. @JustSaying- It is obvious that your posts was meant to provoke a reaction from those that believe in God and Jesus Christ. You obviously don’t have such belief anymore and might have once held such beliefs but no longer. It is also clear that this is your way of mocking Christianity and Jesus and the Bible. To each his or her own, but live and let live.

With that said, have you ever heard about natural laws or common laws? This is where you as a human irrespective of religion or your belief system, has a right to exist and live free from harm to you that no other laws can override. Once someone infringe on them they are now subjected to the laws made by man. This is even true even if you don’t believe in God. You have a right to exist and live free from harm and if anyone brings harm to you the natural law doesn’t punish him, it is now in the hands of men who then create their own laws. If he escapes from man’s laws, at some point he will bring justice to himself by way of doing something that might harm himself and thus balance justice.

That is why scales are used to symbolize justice. Whether you escape man’s law or not, justice must be served. @JustSaying, you sound very conceited, arrogant and disingenuous. No matter how you feel about anyone or any group of people society, all are equal to the natural laws of life. You are pathetic to assume that he should go free without accountability. Maybe he should visit your home next, but please don’t shoot him first.
