A High Court ruled moments ago that India fugitive Mehul Choksi be brought before a local magistrate.
Justice Bernie Stephenson ruled that he is to charges of illegal entry into Dominica.
Choksi was charged with illegal entry by lawmen in Dominica, he was never brought before the court.
The matter was brought before the court on Monday and after deliberations for just over 3 hours, the judge ruled that the application of habeas corpus be adjourned until 9am Thursday.
Choski is currently at the China friendship hospital

So pls don’t be surprised if his 5-star army of highly-paid lawyers (and friends in powerful positions in both Dominica as well as Antigua and Barbuda) go on to appeal in The Caribbean Court of Justice, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.
You bet, they are all aware that it will be futile but then the crook will gain more time to pocket more politicians, officials and members of the judiciary. Perhaps escape to Cuba too? Who knows with all the crazy wealth he has to throw in our country, he may also appeal to the International Court of Justice too!
Seriously, Cuba has no interest in a fool like this. They would probably lock him up for the rest of his life. They don’t need and don’t want any scamps with international charges.
