Judge Refuses Prime Minister Browne’s Application to Strike Out Pearl Quinn’s Defense in Defamation Case

Justice Carlos Michael has dismissed Prime Minister Gaston Browne’s application to strike out Pearl Quinn’s defense in a defamation case.

Browne sued Quinn, a United Progressive Party caretaker, for defamation after she made accusations against him during a protest.

Quinn claims her statement was about the Browne administration, not him personally.

Attorney Dr. David Dorsett argued that Quinn’s defenses should be dismissed, but the judge denied the application.

Quinn is represented by Harold Lovell and Wayne Benjamin Marsh. The case will continue as scheduled.

  1. BAD LEGAL ADVICE – NATURAL JUSTICE – IDIOTICALLY ARBITRARY

    In ‘…Tortious Proceedings,’ notwithstanding any instructions from the ‘…Claimant,’ clearly ‘…Bad Legal Advice’ to the ‘…Prime Minister’ may have caused him to agree to have struck out from the proceedings, the ‘…Defence’ advanced by a ‘…Defendant.’

    If this news report is correct, it sure would have offended ‘…NATURAL JUSTICE,’ had the learned ‘Judge’ ruled otherwise.

    Except in ‘…KANGAROO COURTS,’ it begs the fundamental question: ‘…What litigious proceedings do not have a ‘DEFENCE or allowed to ‘AMEND’ one?’

    With due respect to those so making the application, it sounds somewhat ‘…IDIOTICATICALLY ARBITRARY.’

  4. It’s not going so smoothly for the LITIGATION master – so far -, but Gassssston as always, will “phone-a-friend” and will wangle another angle to wrangle (hey, that rhymes 😁) to find another avenue to try and hurt the Honourable Pearl Quinn-Williams.

    And what has the esteemed lady done to hurt the Prime Minister’s feelings so so so???

    As she has mentioned before, it was about HIS administration and wasn’t meant to be taken personally.

    She allegedly intended to defame the Prime Minister without any concrete proof. If she didn’t, she intentionally omitted the word “administration” from the placard. She knows better, but didn’t she would be challenged legally.
    She is rather familiar with the English language. She knows better.
    People must learn to be responsible in their protestations.
