After intense discussions, it was agreed that the developer would assist in securing a loan to the government of Antigua and Barbuda.

The refurbishment of the hotel is to be completed in phases such that the first guests will likely be welcomed to the hotel in late October.

Former employees of the Jolly Beach Hotel will be compensated for their outstanding pay and other monies owed.

The hotel will not only have new furnishings, but also a new waste-treatment plant and a new Reverse Osmosis water plant.

  2. Opened by October???? That dump?? Pure election tactics. Say anything to fool the idiot voters to get their vote then do nothing afterwards!!

  3. I have a deal on C4 think they need it asap. Seashores are on the rise maybe a clean sweep here and rebuild .

  4. No way is that going to be ready by October are they joking it has gone to rack and ruin even the beach looks like sh1t whoever is in charge of this should be ashamed of themselves one of the most beautiful beaches on the island looks like shit !!

  5. What has happened to the CAUTION that was placed on the property? The Cabinet has used its magic and caused it to disappear. This story is so incredible it is mind boggling.

    • And by the way, why is the name of the investor or developer of the property not disclosed? Is such information top secret? Please Cabinet stop insulting our intelligence.

  6. We won’t be holding our breath with another lie such as this one. My husband and I have been staying at Jolly Beach for 15 years. The treatment of the employees is such a shame, with not paying them with what is owed to them. Until we actually see this happening (Which We Strongly DOUBT), we have stopped going to Antigua as well as all of our friends who used to vacation at Jolly Beach! Pay the workers and Treat THEM like HUMANS!!!
