JOINT STATEMENT BY THE FAMILY & SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISON AND THE DIRECTORATE OF GENDER AFFAIRS WITHIN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH WELLNESS SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION AND THE ENVIRONMENT
The Family and Social Services Division (FSSD) and the Directorate of Gender Affairs (DoGA) within the Ministry of Social Transformation extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of 15-year-old Achazia James.
We stand in solidarity condemning this grotesque and senseless act of violence that was committed against Achazia James and encourage the general public to fully cooperate and support law enforcement in their efforts to solve this crime.
The Ministry has noted an emerging pattern in which young women are being subjected to alarming levels of aggression and violence. This continues to be of great concern to us. We continue to strengthen our efforts to ensure survivors, especially young women and girls and the general public, know where to access support services and resources and encourage anonymous reporting.
We encourage our communities to support our families and look out for each other – IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING!
No longer can we turn a blind eye to the violence occurring in our country; we are tasked with the critical responsibility of being each other’s keeper. We ask that people be respectful and support the family and close friends during this painful time.
Should you have any information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with CID offices.

We have lost the war to the Housewives of Atlanta, or Dubai, or whatever.
What about the child’s picture looks unsavoury and provocative? It’s an average picture. It doesn’t look sexually enticing.
