John Street Denies Theft Allegations, Remanded Until February Hearing

John Street, a man with a history of larceny convictions, stood before the court today to deny allegations of theft and burglary. Street, who appeared unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to charges related to two separate incidents.

The first accusation involves the theft of five bags of Promix plant food, valued at over $500, from The Veranda Resort and Spa in early October. Investigators allege Street was involved in the incident, though he denies the claims.

In a separate case, Street is also accused of breaking into a house at Half Moon Bay last week.

According to the charges, he made off with items valued at more than $2,000, including a coffee maker, a toaster oven, a 40-inch Samsung television, and a small refrigerator.

Magistrate Emanuel, presiding over the hearing, noted Street’s prior convictions, the most recent being earlier this year.

Given the seriousness of the charges and his criminal history, the magistrate ordered Street to be remanded to prison until his next hearing, scheduled for February 2025.
