National track star Joella Lloyd’s Paris Olympics journey ended after a narrow miss in the women’s 100 meters qualifiers.
Competing in heat 8, Lloyd finished seventh with a time of 11.37 seconds, missing the cut as only the top five advanced.
Ivory Coast’s Marie-Josée Ta Lou won the heat with a time of 10.87 seconds, followed by Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at 10.92 seconds.
With Lloyd’s run concluded, Antigua and Barbuda’s hopes now rest on Cejhae Greene, who will compete in the men’s 100 meters on Saturday.
