Jhadel Cornelius, a 19-year-old offender, has been sentenced to a year in prison after admitting to damaging and stealing from two cars parked on Runaway Beach.
On June 17, Cornelius broke into the vehicles, which were locked while the owners were swimming.
He smashed windows and stole a wallet and bag from one car, valued at $100 and $250 respectively.
In a similar manner, he targeted another car and took a bag worth $40.
Unbeknownst to Cornelius, his actions were captured on camera. Due to his status as a repeat offender, he received the prison sentence.

A great candidate for UPP
There are more white collared criminals in the ABLP THAN SANDS ON THE BEACHES OF ANTIGUA.Gaston Browne did say the ABLP Administration of which he was a Cabinet Member was corrupt.I have the recording of him saying so.
That thug got off lightly. A new window, plus vacuum clean-up and installation is over $1000. He has caused REPUTATIONAL DAMAGE to beach-going at that beach.
He needs more time in jail and a few from d bullbud.
@Franks, I fully support your views here. The magistrates was extremely soft with the scum bag and the sentence he gained showed a lack of consideration for his victims.
He should have got a minimum of 2 years without parole, 1 year is like a walk in the park. It is no wonder crime in Antigua is at high when magistrates and judges are dishing out lightened sentences.
