On July 21, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at homes in Cashew Hill, resulting in significant legal repercussions for two residents.
Jamal Lewis was found with an illegal firearm, 17 bullets of different calibers, and 675 grams of cannabis in his premises.
Despite his lawyer’s claims, Lewis was sentenced to 10 months in prison for the firearm and ammunition, and fined $13,500 for the cannabis.
On the same day, Elijah Lewis, a relative of Jamal, was caught with 902 grams of marijuana and one bullet at his residence.
He received a hefty fine of $20,000 for the drugs and an additional $1,500 for the bullet.
Both men faced the consequences in the St John’s Magistrates’ Court. (OBSERVER)
