SOURCE: ANTIGUA OBSERVER- A Jamaican national who recently completed serving a sentence for murder will have to leave the country by next month.

The man, Jeffrey “Nash” Campbell, a former Kentish Road resident, was serving time for the fatal shooting of Sylvester “Copper” Carbon, who was gunned down on April 10, 2013, in Grays Farm.

Carbon was allegedly shot after leaving a shop and was walking along Bridge Road.

Campbell was expected to be deported from Antigua and Barbuda but asked Immigration officials for some time to wrap up some issues, before he departs for his country of birth.

Campbell’s attorney Michael Archibald told the court that he was not opposed to any deportation order but emphasized that his client, who had been living in Antigua and Barbuda since 2005 requires additional time as requested.

Archibald said that an Antiguan citizen was ready to stand as surety on Campbell’s behalf, stressing that the Jamaican man had served his time.

The magistrate agreed that since the man lived in Antigua and Barbuda for well over a decade, he must have accumulated personal items, requiring some time to properly dispose of them.

Campbell reportedly has children who were born in Antigua, but no longer reside in the country.

The Immigration Department has requested that the Jamaican man’s family purchase his return ticket to avoid the state bearing the expense.

Campbell was granted bail in the sum of $10,000, no cash, and one surety, who must be an Antiguan citizen.

In addition, an order was made for him to surrender his travel documents, which are already in the custody of the authorities.

While Campbell is organizing his issues, he is required to report to the Immigration Department every Monday and Thursday between 8:30am and 2pm.

He must leave the state on or before May 18, 2025 under the supervision of the Immigration Department.

  1. I hope tying up loose ends does not get him in trouble. The Jamaican can continue to live his life to the fullest and enjoy time with family. it is always better to murder than to be murdered.

  2. What kind of pappy show ALP government is this? This vermin should be frog marched from jail to the airport. This wicked ALP government too love foreign criminals.

  3. Served time for murder? With an illegal weapon? How the frock is that even possible? We went from hanging them, to life in jail to now serving the same time as a petty thief?

  4. Ammmm No dude u murdered someone and only served 12 years…HELLZ TO THE NO! It’s supposed to be from a jail cell to immigration to the airport outta here…He came here and was on the streets with guns and he murdered someone as an end result…Some how I feel he need time to deal with some shady stuff and the government allowing it…

  6. How can anyone really think that this Administration is really serious about crime and care about Antiguan’s?

What message does this send, please use your common sense and tell me people.

This Administration has never been an advisor the innocent, never, and you see it everyday with the victims families being let down over and over with these foolish decisions.

And they want criminals to follow “Gun Amnesty”. Yeah right Gatson, good luck on that one.

  7. Wow, wow, wow! Just like that you could murder someone and spend that amount of time? MURDERRR you said, with a gun . Not a fight where one was push fell and hit his head and died in the process .

  8. Antigua is not a real place, he could be on contract as a hitman for politicians or personal revenge then he exit Antigua, and that gives home opportunity to come and go when he chooses. Trump would a send he home long time.

  9. What is the value of surrendering his travel document?
Why impose a no cash bail on a convicted murderer?
An illegal fire rm was used to commit a murder, did he cooperate with the police, and give the source for the illegal weapon?
After spending 12 years in prison, owns no Robert, what are the specific lose ends he need to tie up?
    Who was the magistrate?
WHAT IF HE COMMITS ANOTHER SERIOUS CRIME TO REMAIN IN PRISON TO DELAY GOING BACK TO JAMAICA TO FACE POSSIBLE INFRACTIONS THERE,
Did the magistrate ask for a psycology and social report to know if he is reformed and to gather the public’s mindset on the matter.

  10. Is this for real? 12 years in prison tied up the loose ends. Unless you have someone else to kill.
