Radio Jamaica The St. Elizabeth police have revealed that 35-year-old Odane Lee, of Barbary Hall, St. Elizabeth was recently deported from Antigua & Barbuda for overstaying.

After making checks with Jamaican authorities it was discovered that Mr. Lee was wanted in relation to a case of rape, which was committed in December 2022.

It’s alleged that he was operating a taxi when he diverted to the Barbary Hall sports complex, where he sexually assaulted a female passenger.

“A report was made to the police, investigation launched, and warrant issued for his arrest. On the 30th of May 2024, the accused was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport on his arrival into the country. He is said to appear before the St. Elizabeth Parish Court,” disclosed Superintendent Coleridge Minto, head of the St. Elizabeth Police.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Minto said a man, who was taken into custody Monday, in connection with the seizure of three illegal firearms along the Goshen main road, was on his way to meet another individual in the parish when he was picked up.

“The driver was arrested and the motor vehicle seized,” he reported, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

Superintendent Minto said there has been an uptick in the number of illicit weapons seized in St. Elizabeth.

“We have in fact seen an increase in the number of firearms seized in the parish when compared to the corresponding period for last year. So far, we have seized 18 firearms when compared to 14 for the same period in 2023,” he noted.

  2. Who’s surprise? I’m quite sure many more
foreign criminals are freely roaming the streets of wadadli. Unfortunately, this open boarders for Caricom nationals is going to continue to wreak havoc on this once peaceful paradise. The powers that be are protected in their gated communities and or
with personal security guards Poor peoples lives and security aren’t a priority to them. The plebs value are only to cast votes at election time.

  3. Who the hell is surprised here?

I have Jamaican friends, I play in a domino league with many of them, and even they will tell me that even they themselves have to watch themselves when they travel back to Jamaica. Some even say they will not go back..that’s how bad the younger generation has become in Jamaica and across the Caribbean where they are living, and this dumb/dunce demonic dancehall music has a lot to do with it.

Gun lyrics everywhere and who can kill the most..this is almost all you here from that music.

So I have nothing against upstanding people in general, but you must draw a line in the sand at some point…even their very own government and police have drawn that line.

Ask yourself this..why would anyone leave a fruitful and resourceful place to come and live off crumbs in poorer smaller island like Antigua? (Other than to hide from their crimes or some sort of violence)

I’ve been to Jamaica a lot, and I marvel at how beautiful and resourceful that place is..

Do your Job Gatson and Cutie for Christ sake..that’s all Antiguan’s are asking for, but instead you have failed the people and just let in all kinds of criminals the same way y’all just let in over a 1000 Africans with no proper documents whatsoever..where are those Africans Now? Huuumm..y’all don’t even know.

Wake to hell up Antiguan’s, wake up..I’ve been crying this for a long long time now.

  4. This situation is far bigger than just Jamaican criminals. It is prudent that we do more to monitor and scrutinize those persons coming to our shores regardless where they are coming from. The free movement of people throughout Caricom provides a great opportunity for criminals from other countries to hide away in Antigua and Barbuda and with the resent spike in criminal activity right throughout Caricom, criminals would be looking for safe haven in other places. We simply cannot afford to relax our requirement and we must remain diligent always.

  5. People his job is to follow money not crime

His focus is money how much of it coming in how much he can get his hands on

    Crime isn’t his priority
Money Trails …..INVESTORS…money money IS…. Until it rest on his family’s doors Gaston COULDNT care less
