A Jamaican national has pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges more than a year after police and customs officers seized cannabis worth nearly $250,000 at Deep Water Harbour.
Damar Sappleton, who had been living in Bendals, admitted the offence before High Court Judge John Spencer on Wednesday.
The case stemmed from a joint operation on 8 March 2024, during which officers discovered 41 pounds of cannabis hidden inside two boxes at the harbour. The drugs were estimated to have a street value of $246,000.

Sappleton was remanded into custody and is expected to return to court for sentencing on 5 June.
