Jamaican man, 24, latest person to be diagnosed with COVID-19 in Barbados

A 24-year old man is the latest person to be diagnosed with COVID-19.

The male visitor arrived from Jamaica on a Caribbean Airlines flight on Nov 14, and returned a positive result after undergoing a second test on Nov 16.

He was asymptomatic.  He was isolated and under investigation at Harrison’s Point since Nov 17.

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted 384 tests yesterday.

Meanwhile, no one will be released from isolation today. There are now 12 people in isolation.

The number of confirmed cases now stands at 260, comprising 136 females and

124 males.  There have been 241 recoveries.

To date, the laboratory has completed 44,868 tests.

  1. So Barbados is testing a lot more people than Antigua and they actually give information about their positive cases such as gender, age, travel info etc.
