This is why the nation continues to be terrorized. Instead of making these individuals a lesson, the authorities give these culprits a smack on their wrist and then they are back on the streets creating more havoc….

Perhaps the problem is not the perpetrators but those who implement the law.

  1. And that’s that….
Paid the money…back on the street…the cycle continues…no idea where is the source of these 9mm pistols ..and others.

  2. This is where the prosecuting attorney should come in and make a plea deal for more information about the origins of these guns, so to get the gun trade under control.. but hey, this broke administration is more about money, than fighting crimes.

  3. Unless the network is not dismantled the cycle will continue. Extra judicial killing is the order of the day

  4. A mandatory custodial sentence should be imposed on these gun-toting criminals. Whenever they are given a fine, they will pay because they don’t want to be incarcerated and how else are they expected to source the money but through the same means that the guns were used!

  5. Isn’t there a Law that anyone caught with an unlicensed firearm receives an automatic jail sentence? Is it time to examine the Magistrates? And why was he released even before saying where the firearm was obtained from? The Law in this country is a joke. So catch them with a gun, fine them, and release them back into society to resume their crime spree. What does the future hold for this fair land? Crime is totally out of control and all we are told is “What are we complaining about? Antigua still has the lowest crime in the Caribbean. And that is supposed to satisfy us. Time for Cutie and Rodney to go.

  6. All y’all sound ignorant and bitter. Finding someone with Gun is not a death sentence.yes it’s a crime all crime have different penalty.you can get the maximum or within the range, the judge decides that not govt.. the judgement looks fair. But because you bitter old dum dum heat the government so much everything is a problem.if you would have trained your children right we wouldn’t have all these criminals in Antigua. Go Siddung old fools!!
