CABINET NOTES: The Cabinet held a discussion about enhancing domestic ownership in the Tourism sector.
While foreign direct investment (FDI) is highly-prized and sought-after, the Cabinet is of the view that citizens of Antigua and Barbuda should not be left out of the lucrative hotel sector, while they merely keep their savings in the bank collecting 2% interest.
The returns on investment from the tourism/hospitality sector are usually very profitable.
More and more nationals of Antigua and Barbuda, the Cabinet agreed, are to be encouraged to invest in the construction of luxury homes and condominiums that earn a high return annually.
Investments in Pensioners’ Beach, Willoughby Bay, Callalloo Quay and Halcyon Heights are being set aside for investment by the nationals of Antigua and Barbuda who are prepared to invest their capital.

Pays 200k. I’m now an Antiguan. 😛
Great plan, I am guessing I am being listened to. Let us start also with the easiest, start borrowing from locals. Give them that that better than 2% interest but lower than what that money/loan would cost overseas. This is the first step.
I am interested in lending the government $500,000 to $1,000,000.00, if they can guarantee me i will get my money back, as requested (With terms like my US Treasury Bonds, I bonds or EE Bonds or better terms). Terms like there is a stipulated time I cannot cash out, 1 year, if I leave the money up to a certain time, a guarantee the money will double is given, there are fix interest rate and an additional inflation rate added, etcetera. Practically the exact thing the US offers, and better.
Please contact me and start with the less risky for locals to get money in their pockets. I am saying less risky because I am assuming one day the government can pay as promisee and have the same type of FDIC and SEC reliability (administrative/regulatory law, one of my area of strong focus, where I make my money).

I hate when people are lazy or perhaps just deliberate to make dumb statement. Anyone want to invest in government bonds and securities has to go through the Regional Security market. And it is regulated by the ECCB. What more do you want. If the government put out a bond that matures in 5r years they have to make sure it is paid at maturity date with the interest. And this goes for ALL the governments of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union. If you are interested just go to website and stop putting out stupidness that you want to lend government money and they can contact you.
For politicians you mean?
@We’ll See, I thought about the same thing after I already submitted my long comment. I was like, I should have put that part in, but I already hit submit.
@my way of helping. I am interested in your offer from a private sector standpoint. I am currently in Florida and I am very interested in creating meaningful and financially viable real estate investments in Antigua, especially for the young people. Contact me at: [email protected] (352)226-1555
This is another ALP land grab. Bird people too thief! If we don’t get rid of this thiefing government, nothing will be left for our grandchildren.
@less we forget, I am not seeing a single thing I recommended on the website you provided, where is the local government of Antigua and Barbuda providing its own treasury bonds from its own treasury, like the example I used for the US Treasury bonds I have purchased directly from US treasury in types like EE and I?
I genuinely hate when people are too lazy or dumb to not be able to comprehend ideas and strategies. But I understand, it does take that comprehension skill and the ability to put away hatred for those doing good morally and legally.
Thanks for responding guy, but it is not with the point I was making. Local bonds, local treasury, etcetera. Not through ECCB.
Seek local investments, for local projects, through local securities and in manners done when seeking loans from other countries and international organizations. These methods, and not only through ECCB.
But I appreciate the good parts of your response, I will somewhat ignore the revenge section from my nemesis ha ha ha ha.

Thanks for responding guy, but it is not with the point I was making. Local bonds, local treasury, etcetera. Not through ECCB.
Once again you are acting as if you are stupid. We are part of the membership countries of the ECCU. Therefore it is local. All our financial institutions are regulated by the ECCB. Therefore buying government bonds will have to go through the ECCB. The only sad thing is that non of our local banks are brokers. You will have to go through Bank of St. Lucia in order to set up an account.
here is your link for broker dealers Mr. Lazy (Mr. Byam Cornwall)
https://www.ecseonline.com/broker-dealer/
@Less we forget, what does that have to do with my point about local Antigua bonds from the State Treasury? Not an ECCB bond. We are speaking of different ideas. Mine pertains to local, and yours pertains to ECCB.
My idea once again is for local treasury bonds. ANTIGUA’s treasury. I have never heard of an ECCB treasury. I heard of a US treasury bonds and a US treasury. I heard of an Antigua and Barbuda treasury but no Antigua and Barbuda treasury bonds. Did I make it sink in sir?
Again, when the government is borrowing overseas, di they sell bonds to these entities it borrows from? So, I am asking for this type of borrowing to include the locals for higher than normal interest but lower than what would be paid overseas? Do they not go through ECCB for that sir.
Comprehension is vitally important and hatred is not. It will block you from comprehending the points of others and put yourself into things that are not yours. My point is about local bonds, from the local treasury.
Thanks for telling me about ECCB bonds that exist, I am now talking about Antigua and Barbuda treasury bonds that do not exist. Focus tenman.

Which Antiguans are the lands being set aside for, politicians, their family and friends? Question, does Pixe own lands at Halcyon Heights?
You guys are ensuring that when you leave office, no lands will be left for other
Antiguans. Just another land grab.

“what does that have to do with my point about local Antigua bonds from the State Treasury? Not an ECCB bond.”
Are you really that dumb to understand. These are Government of Antigua Bonds and Treasury Bills. There is no such thing as an ECCB bond. ALL the Governments of the ECCU issue their bonds through the RGSM I gave you the link as to the brokers and the country they are in. Is that so hard to grasp. Jesus help me. Too many financially illiterate people down here. Tenman please help. I can’t take this no more.
@Less we forget,
What does what you are saying have anything to do with my demand for an Antigua and Barbuda treasury securities (bonds, tips, notes, bills) be sold in Antigua and Barbuda at the treasury and issuing treasury securities certificates. Comprehending that my point and idea leads my point and idea and not yours. You’re is about ECCB. I am about the government providing such securities locally without folks needing to go to ECCB and set up online account. I know people who cannot use computers.
I want local Antigua and Barbuda treasury securities issued locally. This cannot be hard for you to comprehend.

It seems that you are determined to be stupid and you are beating me down with stupidity.
Ok I give up. You win.
But please know what you are suggesting is not possible.
In fact some years ago a local hotel owner Andrew Michelin try to get people to invest in his property and was called to order by the ESCE that he was not authorize to do so. ALL publicly traded instrument needed to go through the ECSE and there are rules to get to that stage. IPP. and you have to prepare a prospectus. So neither government nor private individuals can put out any investment instrument without going through the ESCE.
and once again I place the link posted by Antigua Observer NY October 17, 2024 At 3:11 pm for you
