The family of a 30-year-old woman is mourning her passing after she was found dead in her Nut Grove home earlier this morning,Thursday, May 6.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Melissa Browne, who allegedly died under suspicious circumstances.
Allegations are that Browne, a Guyanese national, was found by her children and partner shortly after midnight. Reportedly, she was hanging from the ceiling in the living room, and the children are said to have wept uncontrollably at the sight of their mother.
Officers from Grays Farm Police Station responded to the report and witnessed Browne’s lifeless body hanging. She was later pronounced dead by the district doctor.
While it is believed that she might have committed suicide, a post mortem will have to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Sources say the mother of three was unemployed for some time and her children’s fathers allegedly were of little assistance. It is believed that the many stresses brought on by the pandemic might have pushed her to the brink.
Many people have taken to social media to express their shock and sadness, while some who never even knew Browne say they cried, both for her action and the future of her children.
Others are appealing for empathy since suicide is often the result of mental issues, including severe depression.
