InterCaribbean Airlines Faces Mounting Criticism Over Poor Customer Service and Flight Cancellations

InterCaribbean Airlines faces growing criticism as passengers voice frustration over poor customer service and flight cancellations.

Reports reveal incidents of missing baggage, disrespectful treatment, and abrupt flight cancellations, leaving travelers stranded and disappointed.

One passenger expressed their disappointment after being left stranded for days due to a canceled flight from Antigua.

Another traveler recounted a troubling incident when they had to purchase a ticket on another airline after InterCaribbean canceled their flight last year, experiencing unprofessional behavior and payment issues.

More travelers shared their thoughts by commenting:

” Never on time, makes u miss connecting flights. ”

“Worse airline ever!!! Highly NOT recommended! They would leave you anywhere even if you have children! Never take responsibilities for anything, and refuse to put you up even if it’s their fault!”

“Same thing to me! This airline not providing good customer services and they always put you in trouble in Barbados and not be responsible after all the mess!”

“Can it get any worse!! Last Tuesday leaving at 4 pm scheduled, check in for 2 , flight leave at 9 pm. This is craziness to the max level. Last year they changed both ways for carry on luggage.”

“Bite off more than they can chew. They took up the same routes LIAT had but unable to maintain them…..shortage of planes, crew, maintenance staff. They do not assume responsibility for their own faults. Too many people are suffering in all ways from their experience with this airline. The governments need to do something NOW. The airline’s alleged lack of accountability and subpar service has led to mounting concerns among passengers.”

“I boarded the plane with confidence for a short trip and then had to exit because of delays in another country lol I just had to laugh to myself because I was warned.. the cheapest way is definitely not the best way with that airline…”

  1. Oh my God. This is the same airline that my sister used to visit me and her flight to and from Antigua went off without a hitch. Within recent times though there has been lots of complaints of delays, flight cancellations and very poor customer service. Who knew what appears to be a successor to LIAT could perform in such a manner. Maybe those of us that advocate fixing the issues surrounding LIAT to be once again one of the flagships of our Caribbean airspace should be given a hearing and the support of the people to once again make our regional airline work. Hopefully things will clear up after our region’s Carnival festivities are over.

    • Sharon, I had to purchase a 1 way ticket from San Juan to Miami to Antigua to get my husband home from San Juan after they abruptly canceled his flight to Antigua, and had no other bookings available until the next month. This was almost a year ago and I see that nothing has changed.

  2. I have been using them for years without complaint but this year things changed. On route from Antigua to Grenada via Barbados and St. Vincent, I was stranded for hours in Barbados without even as much as a meal or explanation. On my way back I was again stranded for hours in Barbados, my baggage with my work tools and equipment were left behind and I got them 2 days later. All airlines have hiccups and since this was my first in years so I won’t be too critical on them but pray that they get it together soonest

  3. Flew with them last year but never again. They left us all stranded in Barbados for 2 nights with no compensation or accommodation. They made bare faced lies saying the airport in Antigua was closed due to weather even though I showed them my live flight tracker that showed other aircraft landing in and en route to Antigua. They are actually a disgraceful business with no respect for the paying customers and should be investigated for sure.

  4. That airline is the worseeeee. Very poor customer service. I had a first experience and never me again. One person give a price for change of ticket then spoke to another person two days after the price was USD 50 more. Worse airline, very poor customer service. I LOVE MY LIAT. PLEASE STAY IN THE AIR
