VOTE Dwayne Georger Said- Over the past several months, the construction site has been subjected to an unusually high volume of rainfall. This excessive and continuous rain has resulted in flooding in some areas, including the specific section where the foundation piles were originally installed.
After careful evaluation by the engineering team, it has been observed that moisture has set in beneath the piles due to the saturated conditions. This trapped moisture poses a potential risk to the integrity and long-term safety of the structure. As a precautionary measure, the engineers have strongly advised that the piles be removed and done over to ensure the foundation is secure and reliable.
This step, while involving some additional time and effort, is crucial to eliminate any hazard or risk of structural failure once the stand is completed. By redoing the piles, we are ensuring that the moisture-related compromise does not affect the strength or stability of the final structure.
Please note that this adjustment represents only a minor delay in the construction timeline. The stand project is still progressing as planned, and all necessary steps are being taken to deliver a safe, stable, and high-quality outcome.

With all due respect Senator, the integrity of this structure has been compromised not because of the constant rainfall but because after the by-election you dropped everything and never look back. This is the very sad part of Antigua politics. Leading up to general elections, the ruling parties will start all sorts of projects and the day the election done “A the Day the work top”. You can drive around Antigua and see millions of dollars worth of unfinished projects, especially sidewalks and roads that were started during elections, that have been left abandoned after the election. The contractors will tell you that after the elections are over, the politicians don’t care how they get paid. In most instances they don’t even communicate anymore until a next election and this cycle is repeated for ever and ever.
So what kind of electors are we? I must say enabling, abused , downtrodden as the politicians like to refer to the masses, partisan and down right stupid.
So sir just stop trying to fool the people and be truthful. What will be interesting is to see what you are going to do with this field going forward.
Senator this community and play field that has produced so many brilliant sporting Icons deserves much better. You need to repair the entire playing surface, fence the field so that events can be hosted and gate receipts can be collected to assist with in maintenance. Yes and complete a nice neat little stand with dressing room for two teams and toilet facilities for the spectators. I was a fan of Shugy or Shuggy or Kelvin Simon. As was many Antiguan on both side of the political divide and independence votes. However he has fallen and failed to capitalize on his popularity and momentum by becoming a lazy, liming , do nothing anything and making excuses about not being in government. So Senator and junior minister of finance Dave George you still have an opportunity to complete this facility before the next general elections. If this is not done it makes no sense to run again.
