Imani Sinclair has been selected to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the One Young World Summit 2023 in Belfast, Ireland through the support of the OYW Leading Scholarship.

The annual One Young World Summit brings together more than 2,000 of the brightest young leaders from over 190 countries and across all sectors to accelerate social impact – both in-person and digitally.

Delegates will network, learn, and share solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues between October 2-5, 2023.

Sinclair is excited for this opportunity to attend such a huge summit and represent her country on the world stage and hopes to gain valuable insights and connections that will help her continue making a positive impact in her community and beyond.

“I am passionate about continuously finding ways of improving myself, whether it’s through seeking opportunities or creating them for myself and others.”

Sinclair was selected to attend this summit based on her youth activism in various non-profit organizations across the country.

She is the current President of the St John’s Rural East (SJRE) Youth Group, where she leads multiple community outreach programs centred around youth development.

Additionally, she is also a member of the Nolan Hue Foundation’s management team. NHF is a nonprofit organization that provides professional development opportunities for young people in the Caribbean.

Sinclair expresses that attending the One Young World Summit 2023 would be an absolute dream come true for her as a young leader who is committed to driving change and making a positive impact in society.

“This event will provide me with an ideal platform for networking. It will also allow me to connect with like-minded individuals from across the globe.”

Sinclair possesses a Master of Business Administration from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing China – which she says was a “truly transformative experience” that broadened her horizons beyond measure.

Today, as an entrepreneur who owns a small business and lecturers at the Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology facilitating courses in Business and Human Resources, Sinclair believes she is living proof that hard work pays off.

  1. Why do we focus more on a few tugs in our society that want to make us live in fear? And that only because they got their hands on a gun. Because these tugs without a gun cannot even stand up for two minutes in a clean fist fight. That is why the police should manhandle them. teach them a lesson which they will never forget.
Let us focus on this young lady that will represent us as such a prestigious forum. Antigua and Barbuda is in safe hands with such representation.
Congrats Miss Imani Sinclair. I am sure you will make us proud.
