Ian Lewis’s tenure as head of APUA’s Water Business Unit ends today amid efforts to restructure the department and tackle ongoing water challenges.
Utilities Minister Melford Nicholas emphasized the country’s shift from traditional water sources to reverse osmosis plants over the last 30 years.
An interim replacement, likely an engineer from within the department, will be appointed, with General Manager John Bradshaw offering guidance during the transition.
A search for a permanent successor is set to begin shortly.

But….he nearly be 100…young people step up
Shouldn’t it be the Minister who has to leave since he promised that the problem would be fixed in 14 days? No changes can come without the Minister’s say do, or the Government say so for that matter! The manager is just performing their wishes! So, will the electricity manager go as well? The island wide outages have been too frequent!
The scapegoat has been butchered. I pray there is an actual search for a replacement instead of just anointing another comrade
Don’t confuse him with GEORGE “SCAPEGOAT” WEHNER!
John Bradshaw was such a big part of Antigua water problem. He was water manager and did an extremely poor Job. During his tenure as APUA water manager his interest was self enrichment. He abused APUA for his own self enrichment. These are the people we want at the head – we like it so .
MAYDAY!!! MAYDAY!!!! MAYDAY!!! MAYDAY!!! UPP MASH UP!!!! UPP MASH UP!!
Pringle on Jackie Quinn this morning put the nail in the coffin
The new candidates will be announced when an election is announced like in St Peters. From July of 2024 the beheading of those who support Richard Lewis is continuing. How could a sensible party rejected Jermain Edwards for anyone who wants to be in the race
When the team is not performing….FIRE the coach
so then UPP needs to FIRE PRINGLE FORTHWITH!!!! Motion of No Confidence pending???
Strange that the Lickspittle Brigade do not realize that Melford Nicholas is the one who should be fired he is the Minister and should be held accountable remember how the PM treated Dean Jonas when he was a minister what is good for the goose is good for the gander
Barbara tried to have her own launch the other day in ASW..dem say ah she and the tent and dem alone min dey🤣🤣🤣🤣
Farewell Mr. Lewis, enjoy your retirement. Water woes have plaqued this country for years. Bad minded people who think that they can do a better job will make you look inept, UNTIL THEY GET THE JOB AND REALIZE WHAT IT ENTAILS.
At least you made it out alive.
CORRUPTION THRIVES WHEN GOOD PEOPLE STAY MUTE….
FIRST THE GENERAL MANAGER MARTIN DEPARTED TAKEN ALL THE BLAME FOR THE WATER SITUATION
NOW IT’S THE HEAD OF THE WATER BUSINESS UNIT.
CORRUPTION THRIVES WHEN GOOD PEOPLE STAY MUTE
Good idea to have an engineer in charge for a while. A person like that might have more interest in solving the problem than playing the social game trying to please certain people that many managers get caught up in (not saying Mr. Lewis did – don’t know anything about him). Perhaps more speedy progress can now be made towards implementing what is needed to fix the water system.
Ian Lewis is a good man and have done a remarkable job with the hand he has been dealt. The issues at APUA’S Water Division is far bigger and more complicated than any single person can resolve. It is not for human resource capital that the Water Division has been an abstract failure over the years. Government continues to expect miracles from a company that is woefully under resource and one that is trying to make miracles out of old and dilapidated distribution pipes. Almost the entire network of pipes need changing. We have new plants pumping water through badly corroded and old metal pipes so the water crisis seem far from over.
Mr. Lewis let me say to you first happy retirement I’m hoping that you receive all your benefits Now the water wows cannot be solved unless we take the politics out it is destroying the entire country when will it stop UPP start the process in the second term of the administration what have happened from the new administration they killed it first water storage is the key factor have we ever consider the fact placing storage tanks in key point for us to have gravity fed to the entire country no effort was made by this administration to have this venture to complete we are suffering
