Hungry Dog Attacks Goat on Barbuda

8

It has been nine days since Hurricane Irma and seven days since the mandatory evacuation order was given to all residents on sister-isle Barbuda.

With the island now desolate, the surviving animals have been left without food, usual vegetation for feeding, and also left without clean water to drink.

This short video, taken by Barbuda Caribana Chairman, Yannick Beazer, shows a dog attacking a goat in a desperate effort for some sort of food.

The chairman also reports dogs being shot and left to die and rot on roadsides by the police in Codrington, “without proper disposal of the animals afterwards.”

  1. Not fair to say they have been left with no food and water for 9 days because groups of animal lovers have been going over since Monday to feed and water all livestock and pets.

This situation of the dead animals need to be addressed ASAP.

  2. Why are they not taken to the island off the people who left .they ship livestock!!!!! Someone needs to help these animals

  3. Next time a dog attacks a goat in my village, I will video it and send to OMG and Antigua News Room. Apparently this is big headline.

  4. Why are these poor defenseless animals left on a deserted island to dry? Why were they not brought to the other island with their family? This is sickening

  5. Why can people not take responsibility for their animals? I see it on Antigua too….too many poor dogs mistreated, starved, beaten and poisoned. If you cannot love and care for them….don’t have them! When are animal rights going to be taken seriously?
