How the gov’t plans to ease traffic congestion in St. John’s

The Ministry of Works and Housing is collaborating with the Traffic Department of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda to implement a traffic management plan in an effort to ease congestion in the capital, St. John’s particularly on the weekends.

The public is hereby notified that the traffic lights at the intersection of Grays Farm Main Road and Valley Road near King George V Grounds will be placed in a “Flashing State” every Saturday.

This flashing state will take effect on Saturday 22nd April 2017.

This is in an effort to ease the congestion at the busiest period for that particular Junction.

Motorists are there urged to: Treat the flashing red light like a stop sign, Be mindful of the movement of pedestrians and; Take extra precaution to avoid collision or accidents.
