Hotelier Rob Barrett announced that his group of affiliated hotels and businesses will be donating EC$500,000 in cash and goods to help rebuild the beautiful tourism-based island of Barbuda.

“We are extremely fortunate that Antigua sustained very little damage from Hurricane Irma.  Now is the time to count our blessings, and give back to those in need,” said Barrett.

St. James’s Club & Villas, The Verandah Resort & Spa, Pineapple Beach Club, and Galley Bay have all committed to significant cash donations.  Likewise, Epicurean Fine Foods & Pharmacy has committed to donating both cash and much-needed items like food, water, and children’s clothing.

In addition, Mr. Barrett’s Antigua-based Wishing Well charity will be continuously raising money for Barbuda for the remainder of 2017 and throughout 2018.

“The money we raise will go towards specific projects, like rebuilding schools, medical facilities, and housing.  We will ensure that one hundred percent of the funds we raise are used to help rebuild Barbuda and give our brothers and sisters real sense of hope for the future.  Moreover, we will be working in partnership with the Government of Antigua & Barbuda to ensure that the money raised is put to the best possible uses,” Barrett explained.
