Administrative at Mount St. John’s Medical Center are calling for the immediate disbursement of outstanding risk pay.
The employees came forward with their concern to Antigua Newsroom after a recent news article on June 4 said hospital staff were not paid for the month of May.
“I would also like to make reference to outstanding risk back pay owed to several administrative staff members at MJSMC. This back pay started in may 2019 where few persons received payments however majority of the debt is still outstanding,” the employees reported to ANR in a joint letter.
The letter stated that the sums are outstanding for over a year.
“I am bringing this to the attention of anyone who is willing to listen because it has been over a year and I believe that it is unfair that some individuals would have received while others are patiently waiting.”
The letter also suggested that nurses and doctors are the only group of hospital workers being paid attention to.
“It is sad to see that when it comes to this hospital that it would appear that issues are only resolved when it pertains to nurses or doctors.”

It is unfair how this backpay payment is being made since last year june it was to be done in alphabetical order and now june 2020 they only reach the starting of G this is craziness and when you ask about your money they act as if your asking them for their personal money MSJMC cares nothing about staff all when we drap dead infront them they still do not budge …. and lets talk about the nurses and the constant giving of wrong injections in wrong places why are these babies dying on the war?….. nurses making threats “wait until you come on the ward or if somebody for you come on ward” they are only a handful of nurses in MSJMC the others are only concern about collecting a paycheck they do not care about patient health period!!! if am dying mek me tap home and dead and go straight a barnes or straffies cause MSJMC is a legal killing ground for nurses and doctor’s … there’s alot that can be said but ill leave it here because i can write a book
