Happy New Year!
We thank God for taking us through 2023. We pray for His grace and mercy as we enter 2024, with the uncertainty that lies ahead for us as a nation.
We remember our many loved ones, friends, citizens and residents who departed this life in 2023. We pray for comfort for the bereaved families.
Despite our Customs Department’s record-breaking revenue collection of $403 million for 2023, and despite reported significant economic growth, this ABLP Administration has imposed a plethora of increased taxes on the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
This unconscionable move will bring untold hardship on particularly the vulnerable in our society.
This calls for all of us to be financially prudent in these uncertain times. At the same time, it is important for citizens and residents of Antigua and Barbuda to voice their displeasure with this heavy tax burden, which will surely break the backs and will of the people.
In our opposition to these tax measures, we need to demand more accountability and transparency from our Government. They must tell us how our tax dollars are being spent. They must govern in the interest of all the people.
Amidst the anticipated challenges, I pray for health, strength, and wealth for all our families. I hope that all your dreams and aspirations will come to fruition.
I pray for a New Year where the wealth gap between the rich and the poor can be narrowed. I pray for a reduction in the cost of living and prosperity for all.
I pray for renewed commitment to the development of Antigua and Barbuda, where each can endeavour and all can achieve.
Special thoughts and prayers go out for the residents of the St. John’s Rural West Constituency. I cherish the opportunity to represent you, to advocate on your behalf, and to defend your rights. Together, we work to achieve great things for our community.
My family and I wish you and your families a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
May God bless us all and may God bless Antigua and Barbuda.
Happy New Year!

A good and honest appraisal by the Most Honourable Richard Lewis, of the irreparable damage caused to the economy by this out of touch ABLP government.
I also like when you mention that closing the gap between the rich and the poor in Antigua & Barbuda is a UPP priority. Marvellous!
Happy New Year to all those indigenous Antiguans who want to see better governance, and a leader who is transparent in all financial and fiscal matters 🇦🇬
HIP, HIP …
Happy new year to the soon to be comrade. 2024 may just be the year where Richard Lewis finally comes home. This article reflects what happens to persons who hang with bad company
Richard, it is all well & good that on one hand you denounce the tax increase by the ruling administration but on the other hand you refuse denounce ” no show of you the parliamentarians & senators ” in parliament for the budget debate….. Remember, if not mistaken you were the last one to walk out clearly indicating that you were not in agreement with you colleagues. Staying away from debates does serve the nation justice. The people put you & your colleagues in parliament to represent them there & not anywhere else
@ Bluddy Joke
So for all of 10 years from 2004 to 2014 THE ABLP PARLIAMENTARIANS AND SENATORS NEVER WALKED OUT OF PARLIAMENT NOR THE SENATE. SO MUCH SO THAT LENNOX WESTON WAS REMOVED WHEN HE REFUSED TO FOLLOW HIS OTHER COLLEAGUES!!!
YOU FLIPPING GUYS ARE NOTHING BUT BIG FAT HYPOCRITES
