Holland investors planning to spend 300 million dollars in Antigua and Barbuda

27

Cabinet Notes:

The Cabinet held a google meeting with an investment team in Holland joined by their lawyer in Antigua.

The team is planning to spend US$300,000,000.00 in Antigua constructing a new hotel which will open in 2023 and a convention center which will be completed in the year following, or in 2024.

The developers/investors anticipate creating as many as 400 jobs during the construction phase and an equal number when the new hotel and convention center are operational.

One of the major principals is a CIP Citizen who has already demonstrated great faith in the Gaston Browne administration and in Antigua and Barbuda.

  1. BIG YAWN! This sounds like the next Yida or Replay. Big chat but no follow through. Order of the day, it seems. Time for bed. Wake up tomorrow to hear about the next mega-millions investor who will be gone by bedtime.

  2. Have seen this movie over fiftheen times . Pure election gimmicks. If you noticed ,the investor only belief in the Gaston Browne administration running the government.

  3. What has become of that Hotel Project at Old Road. Where is the “Sheikh” with are we land money? He outsmarted the smartest man in Antigua and Barbuda. There was a singing group known as the Spinners.Gaston Browne could spin more than that group. He is the original spinner, talks too damn much.We the people need to see things being done. Not pies in the skies bull chit, like a new City at Willoughby Bay.

  4. Gas-Man Browne: What is the name of this so called invisible Investor? He is from Holland/The Netherlands, according to Gas-Man. Perhaps you could introduced him just before the elections.

  5. This person is going to spend $300,000,000. Yida was supposed to spend $200,000,000 per year for 10 years for a total of $2 billion. How much has Yida spent so far? Only Gaston Browne would know, because he seems to be working for Yida.He is the spokesman for Yida and his Company.

  6. You expect me to believe a cock and bull story like that! Again! Best Western, YIDA Hard Rock, VCBIA Marriott, the one in Old Road…. keep the list going. That’s I can remember.

This government is full of Gas!!!!! All talk! No action!

  7. A hotel again? Is that the only Slave producing business we know? More negroes making beds and serving drinks to the Montzungu? How many times we have to hear the same bull shit over and over. We need to help local people be creative ad have our own. Create Empowerment Zones in villages and give blaack people a chance and 40 years of concessions. My Children and grandchildren will not be serving the Montzungu nada but grief.

    • Preach Skyewill, Gaston and his cabal aren’t thinking outside the box. Antiguan’s are a bright and educated people; and we are more than just hospitality ‘servants’. WE ARE NOT HERE TO SERVE, BUT TO MAKE OTHER FINANCIAL & ECONOMICAL DECISIONS FOR THE FUTURE GENERATION …

  8. With the way the world is going people ain’t going to be traveling much anymore, why not refocus the economy and try get more manufacturing plants here , clothing and textile or electrics . Anything but mindless hotel and tourism dependence which keep parents away from kids at nights and holidays leaving space for adolescent misbehaving , teen pregnancy ,crime and drug use. Take note people the government don’t think much of us and they don’t care about your family and future.

  9. Wow! almost most every commenter has seen that is just an election gimmick. Gaston please wheel and come again with something more credible. As my good friend Joanne Massiah would say “you are a joker”.

    • Chuck, you can leave Messiah out of this. Speak for yourself. I do agree that the Cabinet need to name names and be very specific. That could clear up any concerns.

    • DUTCH INVESTORS. Perhaps they are coming to facilitate our harnessing of our wind energy to generate electricity.

  10. NO MORE HOTELS PLEASE……THEY PAY MINIMUM WAGE AND KEEP THE PEOPLE IN SUBJUGATION.

NO MORE HOTEL I WILL PICKET TO THAT.

  11. The electorate has gone past these rhetorical promise. We need tangible results. That approach of making promises and getting elected is 80s/90s politicking. It ain’t suit this era.

  12. That invisible Investor is “planning” to spend $300,000,000.I am planning to see pigs with wings and flying.
