This Hispanic man says he was woken up by his fiancee about midnight after she heard a noise.
Later he heard people screaming “fire fire.”
Several items in Kentish Road bar were destroyed including a pool table.
The man told reporters he is not working and the bar was his only means of earning an income to feed his family.
The business place was not insured.
Fire officials are investigating the cause.
