High-Powered Rifle and Ammunition Seized in Police Operation

A high-powered rifle and a cache of matching ammunition were recovered during a police operation on Sunday, in what authorities describe as a major breakthrough in the fight against illegal firearms. The operation was confirmed by state broadcaster ABS.

While full details of the incident have not yet been disclosed, police say several individuals are currently in custody in connection with the seizure.

The discovery forms part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to stem the flow of illicit weapons and bolster community safety.

Officials say such operations are critical in tackling gun violence and safeguarding public order. They have reaffirmed their commitment to aggressively pursue and dismantle networks involved in the illegal arms trade.

Residents are being urged to remain alert and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

  1. There should be a special task force set up just to try and find out not only how are these weapons and amo getting here, but how are they then getting on our streets and by the way why would someone in a small island need a weapon such as this in the first place?

  2. High officials are involved in these very lucrative deals. Who else have the money and connections to afford these operations and expensive weapons?

But hey, we all know that this administration do not like to take accountability and go after their own, so they go after the little man in the streets and gun them done like dawgs, the very same how they did Manny.

Corruption has to be stamped out, and this is not the Government to do it..they have taking no measures to curtail organize criminals in this island, none, but instead they are steady pulling over the little 20 yr olds in the streets thinking they are doing something.

Money goes where money is, and there ain’t too many people that can afford to buy a weapon that cost $5k US and ship them to the Caribbean.

So though we blame the US for making guns, nothing is being done to stamp out the corruption in high places, and those are who have the means to pull off these high drugs and gun trafficking.

Remember, the Taliban and many criminal organizations were funded by governments, and when the likes of Allen Stanford bring their criminal enterprises in the island, who do you think they cozy up to!.

  3. How are they getting these guns or any gun as a matter a fact. There’s no gun stores here to my knowledge so?????? That should be the question. They can find guns but not who murdered the two teens and missing persons 🙄good they found them but that’s not the only crime

  4. Thank you for a job well done, we want a safer paradise Antigua and Barbuda not a lawless hell
