Having considered the submissions of the parties, this court indicates, for the reasons provided hereunder, that upon the claimant/applicant giving an undertaking to abide by any order in damages that the court shall deem to have been sustained to the defendants/respondents as a consequence of this order if it is later determined that the injunction ought not to have been granted it is ordered that the defendants/respondents are hereby restrained by themselves, their servants and/or agents or otherwise from holding out directly or indirectly any person to represent the constituency of St. Peter on behalf of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party who is not selected in accordance with the provisions of the Revised Constitution of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party.
[4] An interim declaration is granted that Rawdon Turner was not selected in accordance with the
provisions of the Revised Constitution of Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party. The interim injunction
to stand until the hearing and determination of this action or until there are fresh actions/proceedings
initiated and conducted in accordance with the Revised Constitution of the Antigua and Barbuda
Labour Party.
[5] This court also ordered that:
a. The costs of the claimant’s application are costs in the cause.
b. The Defendants’ application filed on 13th April 2022 is dismissed with costs quantified in the
sum of $3000.00 payable by the defendants to the claimant. Such costs to be paid within
twenty-one days from today’s date.

It is a good thing that Asot had the fortitude and money to challenge Gaston and the ALP in court. In the selection of their candidates for election the procedures in the Constitution should be followed. However, the ALP has allowed Gaston to ignore the procedures and select whoever he wants to run. It happened with Alincia Grant and his wife on St. John’s Rural East. Well, not so with Asot. BEEF what say you about your Top Dawg not following procedures and breaching your Constitution?

Asot can use the court to delay the inevitable, but in the end, he will not run on a Labour Party ticket. He is not fit for public office. I said that to Lester on day one. And Lester didn’t listen and that was his downfall. Gaston promised us that he would keep him in check or else. And Gaston, to my satisfaction and great admiration, kept his promise. When Asot slipped, he didn’t hesitate to remove him from his post as minister. Not like Baldwin who promised to have a policy of one strike, and you’re out, but never had the balls to face any of his ministers. Leadership matters. Big time.

PHILLIP. G I am not getting excited. I am just taking an objective look at the situation. The court has finally set the record straight with respect to process of selecting candidates according to the rules of the ALP Constitution. Gaston has gotten away in the past by just handpicking his choices. Asot took the matter to court and the process should be now clear to Gaston. The court cannot tell you who to select, but it can tell you the process that must be followed in the selection. Whether Asot is on the ALP ticket or he runs as an independent is of no significance to me. The ultimate result will be the same i.e., the ALP will lose the election. Antigua people fed up.
Keep Dreaming. Mind your pressure on election day. Make sure you are prepared for the worst.

The ABLP will correct any procedural breaches that may have existed in the appointment of Comrade Turner and move immediately thereafter to confirm him as the ABLP candidate for St Peter, at the next general elections.
