On Thursday 18th January 2024, Her Excellency Natalie Campbell-Rodriques, High Commissioner of Jamaica to Antigua and Barbuda, presented her Letter of Introduction to the Honourable Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, who warmly received the High Commissioner and expressed his desire for Her Excellency to utilize her office to strengthen the bilateral relationship between both countries.
Prime Minister Browne remarked that Jamaica is culturally one of the closest to Antigua and Barbuda, due to the similarities in accents, dialect etc., stating that โIt is clear that we all emanated from the same space in West Africaโ.
He further expressed that โAntigua and Barbuda today is one of the most representative countries of CARICOM due to its diverse population, as our residents are comprised of CARICOM nationals and their descendantsโ.
Prime Minister Browne, noting that Antigua and Barbuda has a significant Jamaican demographic, expressed that there is an opportunity and market for air link between both countries, as well as the opportunity for trade and capacity building for Antiguans and Barbudans in a host of areas to include sports, culture and economic development.
โIt is in our best interest now to work together to build stronger relations in the best interest of both our countriesโ.
Prime Minister Browne wished Her Excellency success and health and conveyed the same sentiment to the Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, who he stated has maintained great relations and alignment with Antigua and Barbuda, especially in international arenas such as the UN, CELAC, OAS etc.
โPrime Minister Holness is one of the most respected leaders in the regionโฆ his leadership is being displayed within CARICOM [Heads of Government], on the issue of Haiti as we strive to collectively make our contribution to resolving the violenceโ.
The High Commissioner also paid a courtesy call to Minister Greene, delving further into discussions on the opportunities for trade and sporting exchanges, noting that โJamaica hosts over 100 students from all over the world who undertake training as athletesโ.
Minister Greene, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade, Agriculture and Barbuda Affairs, and President of the Antigua and Barbuda Olympic Association, welcomed these areas of opportunity for Antiguans and Barbudans, which will be explored in due course.

Sit properly…callous!!!!! Anyway its a good thing she married…den agen dat nar go tap he!!!!
She too ole . Veal not beef
Iโm so ashamed! He had to be at his luxury home not in the highest office of the land?
Would have thought by now it would have sunken into his head that he represents a country and not himself!!!
If he wants to present himself like that, do it on your own jolly not when you are representing me!!!!
His attire and posture are sorely lacking. Money canโt buy class!!!!!
@Denden.
I do not know iwhether you are male or female but if you can help please do so. Is it possible the PM is heavily pregnant and about to give birth? I am at a loss to determine if he is or not however, if he is then he can be forgiven , if not and I have said this more than once, this PM is sorely lacking in class; no decorum, innately disrespectful and unfortunately for Antigua and Barbuda, displays to the region and the world what a pygmy Antigua and Barbuda has as its leader. Give me an aspirin , please.
Gastro Brown is the picture of a joker with a hitler moustache. His attire to meet a well dressed classy female Ambassador is despicable. Tells you all you need to know about Brown the clown.
As an expert in behavior and society, that way in which he was sitting conveyed to her, and society that I have no respect for you, you are below me and I am in charge.
I cannot believe he did that, he would never do that speaking with any US President or Chinese President, but why do it here?
I am not saying my analysis can’t be wrong and he may have been unaware of how he is sitting but I do hope it was just an honest mistake.
I will still treat him fairly despite how he has treated my family and myself.
The man is the leader of a Caricom state and the lady is just a high commissioner making a courtesy call. The man looked casual and relaxed, so what.
Ever occurred to anyone his batty may be hurting?
We donโt need to import no more criminals from jamdung!
I wonder how the High Commissioner of Jamaica feels when she looks at that picture of her with our PM. I’m sure she will not be hanging it on the wall in her home or office. It shows a total lack of respect for her by GB.
they are much clever than us
So what! You are both cut from the same cloth; common as muck with little scope for improvement. Just a High Commissioner, you say. Seems like he regards the lady as more of a midwife than a person of worthy rank. Did he tell her the people who speak like Jamaicans are in fact Jamaicans and that the crime rate and method of crimes committed and their execution are typically Jamaican? Of course not, that would be undiplomatic. ABLP has turned Antigua into a cesspit of crime and that’s a glaring fact and the authorities in charge haven’t got a clue how to turn the tide, none. My country has gone astray and hell awaits with eager hands. True Antiguans, born and bred over generations are scarce on the ground and are overwhelmed by semi illiterate criminals. We are lost and adrift. Other islands ars too clever and have avoided that gloomy scenario. They are much clevdrerthan us; kudos to them.
