High Chance of Tropical Depression in Central Tropical Atlantic as Philippe Remains Disorganized

NHC -In the central tropical Atlantic, a broad area of low pressure, designated as AL91, is showing signs of organization, with showers and thunderstorms gaining strength.

Located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, this weather system is expected to develop into a tropical depression within the next couple of days.

Environmental conditions are conducive for its development as it tracks west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic.

The probability of formation is high, with a 70 percent chance within 48 hours and a 90 percent likelihood over the next seven days.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Philippe remains disorganized, moving west-northwest with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph.
