  1. Why the h**l these dunce white people wouldn’t stay away from the edge at Devil’s Bridge? Do we have to destroy the natural beauty of the country to accommodate their lack of common sense? Maybe the government should post security up there to prevent people from going up to the edge. Nothing should be marked on such a wonderful marvel of nature.

    • Why it gotta be a white person 😒. Sound racist to Me. You should investigate before you run the hole in yah face 😉

      • @Ridiculous, no stating a fact is not racist. I don’t have anything against white people, but I do marvel in the carefree nature of the stupidity that would compel someone to stand at the edge of Devil’s Bridge and you can’t get away from the fact that it is normally the white tourists that do these silly things. Racism would be indicating that I hate white people which I don’t. I do understand that it’s the go to word now, but far from the truth.

    • I understand your frustration, but no need to call anyone “dunce”, and no need to be racist by calling out “white people”. This can happen to anyone. The reason why Antiguans don’t get caught up in this is simply because they are accustomed to it, hence they know it and its dangers. These tourists are just foreigners looking for excitement and a good time. You don’t know the circumstances. But nonetheless, it’s high time that the government put up warning signs at the place. For such a dangerous place that’s sold to tourists as a must see place in Antigua, it’s funny that there are no warning signs anywhere at the place. Signs at strategic places such as… Don’t walk here, wet and slippery, high waves and big splash- be careful, walk at your own risk, etc, etc, etc. They can also put handrails in certain areas and so on.

Having said all that, great job at saving this lady’s life captain and crew!

      • It is indeed frustration speaking, I’ve traveled to other countries and I’ve looked for excitement, however I don’t think that one should endanger their lives in the pursuit of excitement. I’m not sure that locals are simply accustomed to Devil’s Bridge. I’m sure many will tell you they have never been there. Perhaps what should happen is for it to not be sold as a must see since it is so dangerous, and I fail to see how those signs will deter thrill seekers. BTW, my frustration is with how our country looks after someone makes the decision to stand at the edge of a cliff with violent waves thrashing about and dies, then people want to disturb the natural beauty with handrails and such. That is just how I feel.

      • The article said she was a guess at a nearby hotel. I guess a local ch checked herself in for some reason excitement. Locals are cowards and would not be going so close to the edge.

    • @Antigua First

You are always the one criticising people for their stand, but now look how you being racist and attacking white people without knowing the facts, just like how you criticise the opposition for implementing a well thought out strategy.
      Think you minions easy?

      • You seem to have a problem with everyone’s opinions except yours. How did criticizing a political party for a flawed choice on one post become always criticizing people for their stand? You seem like you’re bored and have nothing to do. If I sound racist so be it. I made my statement and don’t need your permission to do so, nor do I have a problem with people having an opinion about it.

  2. Wow. Praise the Lord for his Mercy.

Congratulations to the Captain, his crew and all who was involved in this rescue. I Pray that the Lord will Bless you all and your family bountifully.

  3. Everything y’all write about is a lie didn’t the boy throw the stuff and save that person the captain was no where near. Always reporting false news.

    • Real idiot. How would he get to throw it if the captain didn’t sail the boat as close as he could. It started with the damn captain now shit your trap

  4. Plain and simple, there’s a #lure at this #CROSS❌❎✝️☦️🎿☠️🙅🏾🤞🏾🏴‍☠️🚷😵❌ROAD, #Portal of the ESSENCE of NATURE’S ETHER, which in, through, of #TIME and #SPACE, transcends and transforms.
Thus, it became a very important site to some of our indigenous ancestors, in the CULTURAL life and Livity, hence, the alluring, serene, sedative nature of “Indiantown,” now known as “devil’s_bridge!”

It’s the fast lane, on the KAMIKAZE HIGHWAY, to Hotel California, where you’ll check in, but you’ll never check out!

It’s the place whereby, NO PLACE BODILY; IS EVERY PLACE SPIRITUALLY!

  5. Devil’s Bridge is a sacred place,a lot of our ancestors died there I believe in spiritual situations and happenings.
Take heed and be careful people
ANTIGUANS DOES SAY “THE SEA A CALL FU SOULS”

    • Well devil bridge is where those white crackers took our grandmothers and grandfathers and throw them over into the sea by the hundreds of thousands over the years for refusing to be slaves as their human dignity in the ancestors communicate to them. Could it be our people spirit in that water is calling the children of the former slave terrorist to there fate in the rough sea as they met it?

  6. I think that at the immediate entrance of the ports there should be warning signs about entering our white sandy beaches and blue water due to the difference in buoyancy with lakes which white people or for that matter any inland residents of large continents that have never seen the sea water all their life except for TV , in Idaho and las Vegas all their fun is in a lake, swimming and jet ski all their life, fresh water and salt water has different buoyancy, so some tourist exit a cruise ship are airport and has an instant drowning. So please put up signs at ports and on hotels compound to warn the tourist to get climatised to salt water swimming gradually. It’s dangerous to attempt it at once.

  8. Woow well this truly is a thread full of dunce people!
Instead of talking about our great locals saving someone’s life. We resorts to clearly a racist comment. As it’s only dunce white people who do these things. What more dunce running your mouth before you check the facts…..it was actually a black person. Then the comment Antigua news room telling lies and false reporting “the captain nowhere near” Same again shoot ya local news reporters down and Captain. The boy wouldn’t have been able to throw the life ring and bring her in, if the captin hadn’t have had courage to make a critical decision to take his boat full of people in that direction and having great skills in operating and control of his vessel.
    Before you speak THINK
    – is it True?
    – is it Helpful?
    – is it Inspiring?
    – is it Necessary?
    – is it Kind?
    No? Well just be 🤫

  9. Black tourists make up 15% to 20% of all tourists so it could very well be a black tourist. Use your dam common sense. Unless you see the person, keep your mouth closed. That being said ask your dictator of a PM to post permanent signs to warn people
