The long summer vacation is an ideal time to start new projects and perfect some skill that we have always wanted to get right.

According to Rachel Collis, a modern languages specialist tutor in French, Spanish, English and History, this is an ideal time for students especially to begin to work on their orals and grammar.
Students going to secondary school for the first time can get a jump on learning to write and speak Spanish and French.
Those students about to enter Fourth and Fifth Forms may need some help with breaking down those verbs and grammatical constructions that can prove very testy, especially when it comes to handling the multiple choice and situations sections of the CXC Paper.
There are also positions for CAPE students who for the first time find themselves having to read novels and interpret them in both languages.
“Unfortunately, some teachers do not teach certain sections of the CXC and CAPE syllabuses because of their lack of familiarity with the subject matters,“ said Collis. There are others who are more comfortable with teaching students to write the languages, and place very little emphasis on the spoken aspect. This can prove costly when the time comes for the oral exam which is a part of the overall pass mark.”
There is also room at the teacher’s table for adults who have always wanted to learn a language other than English. And last but not least, some of our Hispanic residents who would like to upgrade their knowledge of Standard English will also find assistance.
Special focus is placed on helping persons to speak the languages well.
Groups are especially welcomed.

Rachel, Mr. Athill has publicly stated that he was booted from the chat. Was it you or another Rachel who booted him? Simply confirm or deny his statement. If what he said was false, then potential students have nothing to worry about. However if what he said was true, then I’m not sure how fair and impartial of a tutor you would be to students who do not endorse your political persuasion. Are you that Rachel referred to in Mr. Athill’s statement? IF so, did you do what he claimed you did after exercising his free will to flee a sinking UPP ship?
