Indeed, Hellsgate is deserving of high praise & commendations for retaining the panorama championship.
However, I am not certain if the band itself or the arranger Khan Cordice deserves additional credit. But ofcourse Kudo go out to the two.
As for the future panarama competitions, the steelband association can become creative and rotate the arrangers to be assigned to other bands rather than being assigned to their home band. For eg Khan Cordice through a fair selecting process can be assigned to a West Side or a Geomonites. The same concept can apply to the arrangers like Patrick Johnson etc.
The proof of the quality of the band & arranger will certainly be tested
Where is pan really going when one orchestra is so advance above the others? The pan association with the new financial agreement by the government needs to come up with a quick remedy or they will find themselves going down an awkward slope, you may as well have Hellsgate competing against itself on that night with a series of tunes arranged by Khan.
The delusion is we are second to TnT in pan but in my book we can’t even compete against their junior pans. As I said before we need to expand pan to the countryside like we once did in the south some years back.
