Heart Specialist from Hangzhou Normal University in China visiting Antigua and Barbuda

16

CABINET NOTES: The Minister of Health reported that a visiting Heart Specialist from Hangzhou Normal University in China has been visiting Antigua for about a week.

He is seeking to establish a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the University and Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLMBC).

The well-known Chinese heart surgeon has classified heart disease into two separate and distinct periods; the first is when the patient experiences mild chest pains; and, the second is after the patient has experienced heart failure.

The Minister proposes to equip all clinics with the equipment to measure and examine patients suffering mild chest pains; the hospital would then address patients who suffer heart failure.

  1. The foods which they sell you and you consume will cause many issues with the heart and its system. Then have bring you the expensive treatments.

  2. @the cause and remedy everyone has a choice in purchasing what they want, either good or bad, healthyorunhealthy, people who eat very oily foods 3 and 4 times a week has a choice also. The need of heart care and remedy is very much needed. Hats off to him and future heart specialists.

  3. @Positive direction – what is easier…to heed a little friendly advice and adjust ur lifestyle or to hope that one of these specialists has pity on us? Medical care is great but knowledge is still power.

  4. When people know better they do better. Once we understand how important it is to nourish our bodies with organic foods and be vigilant about our sugar and salt intake we will do better and get better. The Ministry of Health is also taking a proactive approach to health care and they ought to be commended.

  5. Your health is about input and output. You can eat whatever you want (input). The key is to put in the effort to burn the calories (output).

  6. Be careful of Chinese bearing gifts!

I think Wuhan virus was created to stop hearts (heart attack). So now, we have to pay big dinero to keep hearts from failing!

Let’s get help from Barbados/Mia Amor to start our small cardiac clinics and the larger centers. Love is All we need.

  7. MsSharon, you talking like people don’t already know. They know smoking and alcohol isn’t good. They know about bread and soda being bad. They know not to speed when people are exercising on the road to the stadium or cycling for exercise. They know about the salt pork and herring and the salty greasy season rice and oily goat water and pepperpot.
All the potholes in the street and broken walkways must be fixed so cars don’t swerve and hit us down or cause us to walk in the road.
People know. People just don’t care.

  8. Hey @Steve! Yes it’s about input and output, but between the point of input and the tip of output there are X to Nth chemical processes that takes place. Less You Forget not everyone’s body is able to break down any and everything.
A simple question for you. Fish farming and the processing of fish products use many chemicals in the process to include arsenic. Would you prefer to eat foods which are high in arsenic or foods processed with less chemicals?
The reason for asking, many food products which are now finding their way in abundance and cheap on grocery shelves in Antigua & Barbuda are LABELED entirely in MANDARIN. Less You Forget the vast majority of poor Antiguans or those living in Antigua cannot read MANDARIN, so how do they know what they’re INPUTTING into their body?
Diet and important choices to safeguard your health goes way beyond INPUT and OUTPUT.

  9. @Gisele say NO JAMAICAN First Lady for UPP or Antigua! October 25, 2024 At 12:53 pm
Sorry That is something only God cand do. And in the Catholic region which she practice, they do not do confession anymore. That is why many of them take the sacrament and are still full of hate and wickedness. The Bisshop should really look into this. Having all kind of people taking the Holy Sacrament and not really repenting for their sins. As a Catholic myself I am watching them every week in church at mass. The badtalk oneanother, skin teeth with each other but don’t really like oneanother at all. The minutre they step out side of church they push up their face and don’t even great one another. HYPOCRITES.

  10. WHAT THE HELL!!!

Why has 99.9% of the commentators on here totally ignored the elephant in the room on one of the main causes in the growth in heart related issues in Antigua and around the world in the last 4-5 years???

Myocarditis, Pericarditis and Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) is rife throughout the globe and the devastation is immeasurable. Fact!

Yet, this government (led by the notorious Health Minister Molwyn Joseph) knows the cause; Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus from the World Health Organisation also knows the cause; the Bill Gates Foundation definitely understands what’s going on; and let’s not forget the major players in all of this, the devilish pharmaceutical companies, who literally made Billions of dollars from the many deaths and heart related problems (as well as other serious adverse reactions) from the Covid-19 vaccines and mandates.

    There silence is deafening …

    WHERE’S THAT ELEPHANT GONE? 🐘

  11. Here we go again, blaming the Chinese, this time for their food… Blaming others for what YOU put in YOUR mouth! Is someone putting a gun to your head and forcing you to eat something labeled entirely in Mandarin? Always playing the blame game.

On the other hand, Brix may have a point. I wonder why AstraZeneca withdrew their vaccine globally. Poor sales or something else? Time will tell.

  12. Yeah, great, chinese “medicine” for your heart condition, eat tinture of dead bat’s ass with a side of emu urine.
China did great during the covid scamdemic that COMMUNIST CHINA started, they welded doors closed and starved victims to death.
    WAKE THE FUCK UP!!

  13. I’m quite sure that the cardiologist referenced is well trained, he probably has good bedside manner etc. On the other hand, it is highly unlikely that he will be able to communicate effectively with his Antiguan patients. There are other options for recruitment of well-trained Internal Medicine physicians and sub-specialists such as cardiologist, gastroenterologist, endocrinologist etc. A few years ago I met with the minister of health and offered my services as a board-certified internal medicine physician who happens to be a fellow of the American college of medicine. The minister was two hours late for the appointment, he did not ask me to take a seat and then wanted to know what I’d get out of my proposal to volunteer as a visiting physician. I’m wondering if he treated my Chinese colleague the same way. I left him my information but never heard from him again. Incidentally I’m Antiguan.
