The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment is strongly refuting claims that a Woman (of Spanish descent) who was picked up at a tattoo parlor on Wednesday 24th June 2020 came in on a flight from Santo Domingo and was not quarantined.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rhonda Sealey-Thomas maintains that individuals who arrive in Antigua are subject to be quarantined. More specifically, individuals who arrived on the DR flight on Friday 19th June, 2020were ALL placed in the government’s quarantine facilityat the Hawksbill Hotel.
Health Officials confirmed that the woman in question came in on American Airline flight 2405 from Miami on Friday 19th June 2020 and after undergoing screening, was given permission to self-quarantine at her home.
The Officials upon learning she violated the self-quarantine instructions, initiated action immediately to have her picked up by the Emergency Medical Services with the assistance from the police and taken to the Governments’ Quarantine Facility at Hawksbill.
Police Commissioner, Atlee Rodney indicated “the matter is being investigated with the likelihood of charges being brought against her for breaching the Quarantine Act once her quarantine period comes to an end.” This, he further noted was in order to minimize contact with members of the general public.
Meanwhile, the health officials have also been made aware of misinformation being circulated in the media about five individuals escaping from the quarantine facility and being on the run. We categorically refute these allegations.
Health Minister, the Honorable Molwyn Joseph noted that stringent measures are in place at the quarantine facility to prevent such breaches. He also stated that his Ministry will be more rigid in enforcing quarantine regulations going forward.

One would think that after last night’s disaster of a press conference, Dr Molwyn and his Chief Mouse would stay out of the public’s eye. Obviously, they have no shame. How about correcting the misinformation that they are putting out via the dashboard.

Why was she allowed into the country in the first place? Only Antiguan citizens and bona fide tourists should be allowed into the country until the pandemic is over.
Mr. health minister: I would hope that you have been exerting much more energy and effort seeking the grace of God and the gift that He offers. Rather than to seek the praise of men.
Consider your ways, Mr. minister. Consider your actions over the years. Repent. Tell the people the truth.
You will soon stand before the judgement seat. Do Not fool yourself.
