Dr. Griffin Benjamin, head of Clarevue Psychiatric Hospital, has been placed on administrative leave by Antigua’s Minister of Health, Molwyn Joseph, less than a year after his appointment.
Sources say tensions had been growing between the two, reportedly over health-related disagreements. The move follows Dr. Benjamin’s alleged refusal to provide reports on the admission of a medical student and a related full medical report.
The case involves a student from the American University of Antigua who was admitted to Clarevue from 15 to 27 August. The student’s family filed a complaint alleging mistreatment, prompting an official investigation by the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Benjamin, a Dominica-born psychiatrist with experience in both Dominica and Antigua, also works privately in St John’s and provides mental health services to students at Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados.
The ministry has not indicated how long his leave will last and offered no further comment on the investigation.

Similar actions of carrying out investigations with doctors at SLBMC. Patients have been left traumatized after surgeries etc.
When hospital does anything to citizen Joseph says nothing, but when American rude, out of control disrespectful drug using children comes to foreign countries, rejected by universities and parents, will hit workers Mr. Joseph wants to finish a respectable man career, his health department need a overhaul beginning with supplies and proper staffing please stop.

Was Dr Benjamin behind the injuries of many Antiguans like Joseph during the pandemic? I think not!
Was Dr Benjamin involved in the transportation of AstraZeneca from countries like the UK and Denmark into Antigua & Barbuda? I very much doubt it?
