Has the Gaston Browne Administration Secretly Increased Government Ministers’ Salaries?

1. No surprise here. This just reaffirms that I am right NEVER to vote for ABLP.

     When so many people in this country are suffering and can’t even buy bread, they increase their salary by 10%???!

4. So who da f*k cares? When the UPP came into office the first order of business was giving an increase to the politicians.
   The UPP politicians said they couldn’t work for that little amount.
   A Politician is the only profession that is expected to work harder than all of us, yet get paid the least.
   Why is that?
   BTW, you realize this increase is also for Serpent, Shugy, Pringle, Trevor walker, Richard Lewis, Sheffield Bowen, Asot michael etc?
   The UPP Politicians got the increase too so how come they didn’t tell you?
   Secret my a$$.

   • All government employees need a raise and proper working conditions. Politicians who work for the people don’t need a raise of such as they do not have monthly expenses like us… all of dem except a few pension done secure 100 times over since they’ve been in politics since dinosaur days… you talking and I’m sure you don’t contribute to the economy in anyway but to come to Antigua every 5 years or so to vote so the rest of us can suffer…

6. …meanwhile I’m still waiting on the pay increase promised to civil servants (I’m a teacher) and no one can tell me whom I should speak to concerning why the increase has not been reflected on my salary. When I went to the Ministry of Education they said they couldn’t help 😒

7. Not sure if this was done in accordance with the recent increase given to all public sector workers as part of the new public sector compensation package. If so, then why the secrecy? Even before these new increases, local politicians were among the highest paid politicians in the region, not to forget all the other perks and privileges that they enjoy. I honestly fail to see any justification for the sweetheart increases that was given to themselves. The secretive nature of it speaks volume!

8. Foolish and lazy ministers!! Just go in the taxi business, work Monday and Tuesday and bam $14,000 just so ….
