Police are probing the murder of government press attache, Ridchy Cayo, who was shot near the police station in Omega on the outskirts of the capital.
In a statement, the Primature said unidentified gunmen riding motorcycles opened fire on the press attaché on Sunday fatally hitting him in the back.
It said he was rushed to the Office of Occupational Accident Insurance, Sickness and Maternity (OFATMA), hospital, but died soon afterwards.
The Primature described Cayo as “:a dynamic, dedicated, passionate press attaché, marked by a sense of creativity and innovation in the field of digital communication, for which he was in charge”.
It said with his death, the Primature “lost a seasoned professional, who will have marked, by its brief passage, the landscape of social media”.
