SOURCE STATE MEDIA: One man has been sentenced to 4 years and 5 months at His Majesty’s Prison, while another will serve 2 years and 3 months for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
The men had pleaded guilty in separate cases in the District B Magistrate’s Court.
Neil Guye has been sentenced to 4 years and 5 months in prison for illegal possession of a firearm and 95 rounds of ammunition.
Guye’s attorney has indicated he will appeal the sentence, insisting the court erred in its sentencing.
In a separate case, Ridge Turner has been sentenced to 2 years and 3 months for illegal possession of firearm and 3 months for possession of two rounds of ammunition.
Those sentences are to run concurrently.
Turner will serve an additional three months for failing to pay a fine for a breach of the mandatory curfew during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
He will therefore spend the next 2 years and 6 months in prison.
The sentences were handed down by Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Wednesday.

Very good sentencing. I read of intention to appeal Guye case. Are we serious about guns on the street in Antigua ? Appeal my foot. Let him remain in prison. What is he doing with 95 bullets ? Is he selling bullets ? Give me a break
Son of a you know what, deserve every day he got behind bars
@Joan
His utterances are nothing more than mystic gibberish designed to scare, mystify and unnecessarily panic the general public.. Leave Mr Pompey alone! He too is a product of the environment in which he was raised 1980’s and beyond, when the police force were the most hated, wicked, corrupt , yet tolerated nstrument utilized by the then government.
