Police say a 57-year-old man is assisting their investigations into the murder of a 54-year-old shopkeeper on Monday, hours after being accused of sending her monkey to steal money.
According to the police, the neighbour of Shellon Burnette of East Coast Demerara, is assisting in the investigations after she was stabbed multiple times.
Reports are that on Saturday, the suspect had gone to the shop accusing Burnette of sending her monkey to steal his money from his house. They had a heated exchange during which the suspect threatened to kill her.
