CMC:
A father and his two children died after a fire swept through their home on Friday, fire officials have confirmed.
They named the victims as Michael Richards, whose age was not given, and his two children, six-year-old Somaya, and four-year-old Supreme Richards.
They were occupants of the lower flat of the two-storey building on Drysdale Street, in the capital, Georgetown. The three reportedly got trapped by the heavy grill work on the building.
Fire Chief, Gregory Wickham, said the fire began at 7 am (local time) and quickly engulfed the house.
Wickham said firefighters subsequently retrieved the bodies of the three people from the building.
